I have been working on more ideas of my wee characters and thought of creating paper dolls of them, as in already created prints or new specific paper dolls to be downloadable. This is my first one, what do you think?

What my current art is about – Beatrice Ajayi 18/06/13
Hi everyone, its been a week or two. I have been keeping myself busy as usual, then I had some access issues but all sorted now, hence my current posting. So one of the things I have been up to lately is thinking about my work and its relevance, I started looking at what I was putting out there. From the recent work posted for sale on my etsy store you will see that I am looking at the area of conservation.
I have always been really into wildlife. I was part of the YOC as a child, young ornithologist club, and still spot the birds till now. So I was also thinking of when I was a lot younger and what I thought of the wildlife and natural habitats around the world.
So this current collection which will probably go on for a while because I have a large list of research animals and natural objects I want to depict through a child’s eye. They are the future and I think they should have a say. It is a lot of fun creating these pieces. Definitely takes me back to my childhood. So check out my etsy shop for more of these cute nature kids. Nite nite

Do You Like My New Dress by Beatrice Ajayi 04/06/13
This is one of the pieces I created on paper 53 app on my iPad today. It’s me researching a new approach. This is going to be a continuous thing it seems, at some point I will figure what style, colouring, size, tools, pen or paint etc suits me best. I love to paint with actual paint but I am still trying to understand how to get it to look the way I have it in my head. So until then. More experiments. Nite nite. B

Smokie My Pet Rabbit 1/06/13 Beatrice Ajayi
This picture is a digital painting of a pet I had a long time ago. I had to give him up when I was moving into a flat with some of my siblings. They didn’t want him. But he went to a good home, our neighbours friends child took him in. He really taught me that rabbits have a lot more intelligence than I had ever known. This drawing was done on app 53, the made with paper app.
Nite nite. B
The Crowned Owl
This piece is part of my continuous experimentation with colour. Green with yellow accents infused within.
I’d say I am always looking for unusual friendships for my characters. They tend to be lonely individuals who don’t seem to have close friends they can talk to. Therefore they have these quaint or dangerous animals sometimes who they feel free to share their fears and ideas with.
This particular friend has a crown so is of royal standing. I don’t see him just listening but he will have a lot t o say too.
The crowned owl is a prince amongst birds,
Watch him fly and believe all that you have heard,
proud but loyal and a straight talker,
He hates a quarrel,
He Loves completely and rules without timidity…
